We’Re Back … Communica Calgary Returns To Its 12Th Avenue S.E. Offices

March 5, 2014

Just 257 days after the June 2013 floods in Calgary, Communica has returned to its offices, which are now bigger and better than ever.

The flood forced us, and thousands of others, to move.  On June 21, 2013 the flood waters hit our building on 12th Avenue S.E., and the entire basement, including the businesses that operate out of it, were under water.  Communica evacuated and resumed work at home for the remainder of the summer, however, we were still able to maintain the same level of work and professionalism for our clients – in fact most had not noticed we had been out of our office as long as we had. This speaks to the proficiency and professionalism of our team.

Thanks to Stantec, we eventually found a temporary home on 8th Avenue near 8th Street in September, 2013.  Although we were grateful for the temporary location, it wasn’t the same as being in our own space.

Despite our circumstances during this trying time, our team continued to grow as we continued to meet the needs of our clients.   In fact, we added to our client base.  As of March 3, 2014, when we moved back into our original space, we brought with us 11 new Communica employees.

We have taken over all of the second floor, and have added offices and work spaces for about 30 people.  We currently have 23 people working full time, with room for new hires, associates and others as needed.  Our Vancouver office also continues to grow, and between the two Communica locations we now have close to 40 people providing service to our many clients in Alberta and British Columbia.

Now that we’re back home, we can start planning  get-togethers with our clients, suppliers and other friends – as well as work on events such as our annual Calgary Stampede Party.  We also welcome all of our clients, suppliers and friends to drop by any time to see our refurbished offices, and to see the bigger and better Communica Calgary.

We thank you all for your continued support over the past year. Although it was an unforgettable challenge to work through, we could not have done it without the support of one another and our clients and friends.
